From an idea to a huge opportunity

In 2005, based on statistical data and on personal observation of its members, Gelaterie Bucci, Inc. dba Pappalecco, intercepted an enormous market niche in the American social tapestry. In the United States, there was and still is an immense group of people asking for an Authentic Italian Café Experience. Pappalecco’s goal was to create a movement out of this group and, in 2006, the Company decided to bring to America the model that forms the basis of social life in Italy: The Café.

In Italy, at the café, the action of buying a product intertwines with the experience of living a moment. The overall experience of Pappalecco is an unprecedented synthesis that our American guests (or, like we call them, friends) have immediately recognized as absolutely unique and innovative for America: friendly,  informal, yet very elegant. The ambience is up-lifting. We are the “neighborhood café,” or “the meeting point,” or “a destination,” our friends say. 

We have full confidence in the potential of this concept as it represents one of the most innovative and unique approaches to Italian culture and lifestyle. The triad food-design-hospitality epitomizes the concept of a quintessentially Italian product and it’s been a great success in Southern California.
